Other qualifications: methods of field collecting of invertebrates, extended field experience, limited experience in methods of rearing of insects (e.g. lice), and monitoring forest pests.

moth).
Editorial responsibilities:
- a member of the editorial board of the international journal
"Arthropoda Selecta" (since 2000).
Participating in the international meetings:
Main research interests:
The main interests are connected with the comparative morphology of
the copulatory organs in the Salticidae and implication of these data into
solving the problem of salticid relationships:
(1) resolving a taxonomic position of the Salticidae within the so-called
RTA clade on the base of combined (morphological-molecular) evidences;
(2) evaluating a comparative taxonomic significance of genital versus
behavioral characters in the supraspecific taxonomy of Salticidae;
(3) providing an up-dated nomenclature of the copulatory organ elements;
and
(4) contributing to comparative methodological studies.
Besides, complete taxonomic revisions of Bianor, Harmochirus, Yllenus and Aelurillus (all are difficult big genera of the jumping spiders) are being performed. Special taxonomic studies supported in part by the Finnish Academy of Sciences are connected with the jumping spiders of the Oriental Region (results are mostly unpublished yet) and based on the large tropical spider collections of the Zoological Museum of the Univeristy of Turku (Finland).
Some of achievemants and record to date:
Scientific publications:
74 papers in systematics, taxonomy and comparative morphology of the genitalia
of various groups of spiders (Araneae), particularly of the Salticidae.
